Marian families interested in hosting an international student for a two week period in October are asked to contact Etta Stadtmiller of TILESA USA at 574-231-0358.  This group of students from a Catholic school in Barcelona, Spain will be attending classes at Marian for two weeks in early October 2010. 

Sept. 7 - Could you use a little more drama in your life? Well, the Marian Drama Department would like to Help! Information for auditions for the Marian Drama fall play “God’s Favorite” will be available immediately after school tomorrow at 2:30 in the Band Room. This isn’t a meeting; just stop by and grab the audition packet and ask any questions, then you’re ready to go! Actual auditions will be Tuesday, September 14th, after school. All are invited.

Attention Outstanding Seniors: It is time to nominate a Wells Scholar for IU Bloomington. If you are interested in being nominated for this merit based scholarship, please see Mrs. Talos in the guidance office.

The SAT will be given at Marian on Saturday, October 9th. The Regular registration deadline for this test is September 10th. The Late registration deadline is September 24th. Make sure you register by September 10th so you don’t have to pay late fees.

Seniors: IUSB will be doing onsite admissions here at Marian on Tuesday, Sept. 28th. The application fee will be waived on this day and $500.00 scholarships will be given out. If you are planning to apply at IUSB or just thinking about it, sign up to do it here at Marian for free! See Mrs. Talos in Guidance to get an appointment time.

Representatives from Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Penn, and Stanford will be in South Bend on Monday, September 20th at the Hilton Garden Inn on Route 933. Their informational program starts at 7:30 p.m. Contact the Guidance Office for more information.

Attention all German Club members, all T-shirt designs must be submitted by tomorrow. There will be a meeting Thursday, Sept. 9th at 7:30 a.m. to vote on the winning design. Entries can be turned into Frau, C Dittrich, L Henry, M Williams or K Koch.

NHS Candidates: There will be a meeting today, Sept. 7th in the cafeteria from 3:15 – 4:00. Please be on time and bring a pen to the meeting. As was stated in the letter you received last week, this meeting or Thursday’s meeting is required to continue your NHS membership selection.

The next meeting of the Environmental Club will be Thursday at 3:05 p.m. in Room 241. All are welcomed. Please make arrangements to attend if you would like to participate this year. The Biotope Group will also meet at this time.

The Marian JV football team beat Riley by a score of 19 to 8 this weekend. Scoring for the Knights were V Ravotto, who threw a 65 yard touchdown pass to P Hunsberger. V Ravotto and J Walter both rushed for touchdowns. M Hammond and T Nixon both had interceptions.

The freshman football team played tough last night, down two times they came back to beat the Mishawaka Cavemen 28 to 12 in their first game as Knights.

The Back to School Dance is tonight in the BCAC after the football game until 11:00 p.m. Cost is $3. Students may bring a non-Marian guest if you get a pass from Mrs. Imus in the Attendance Office. We will have corn hole, ladder golf, and a refreshment table. Appropriate, modest attire is expected, no tank tops. All Student Council and Class Officers are required to attend.
