This Friday, 9/6, at the Marian/St. Joe football game at Marian, there will be several activities going on to raise funds for Cancer Research. For several years, the Marian Science Research class has connected our studies of research to our Catholic mission by supporting the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. All monies collected Friday will be donated to the American Cancer Society through the Making Strides Walk. We invite everyone to participate in donating to this important charity.
The first activity is a “piggy” raffle. More than a dozen different prizes will be raffled off, including gift cards to Kroger, Martin’s, Hacienda, Amazon, etc., and special items like Movie baskets and Notre Dame gear. Tickets for this raffle will be $1 each, and will be available at a table located near the ticket gate.
Secondly, students from the Science Research class will be selling Glow Sticks at the game for $1 each.
Additionally, tickets for another raffle will be available. This one is for 2 tickets to the Notre Dame/Navy game on November 6. Cost is $10 per ticket, or 6 for $50. The drawing for these tickets will be held on October 4, and tickets will continue to be sold until that time. Additional tickets for this raffle may be obtained through the Marian High School office.
Again, all proceeds will go directly to the American Cancer Society to support research into curing cancer.
