Marian High School has a long and successful history of participation in Science Olympiad competitions. Our science department has carefully cultivated a reputation for award-winning teams through hard work and dedication to student preparation. Students compete with other schools in a Regional Tournament, involving various events covering many aspects of science, technology, mathematics and engineering.
Students typically work on their chosen events in pairs to prepare for the Regional, which is held in February. Successful teams move from the Regional to the State Tournament , which is held in March. Locations and dates for Regional and State tournaments vary from year to year.
What is Science Olympiad? Founded in 1984, Science Olympiad is one of the premier science competitions in the nation, providing rigorous, standards-based challenges to nearly 8,000 teams in all 50 states. Science Olympiad is host to 450 tournaments annually on college campuses.
